China’s Imported Fruit Market to Embrace Fiercer Competition in 2019

China’s imported fruit market witnessed steady growth, both in terms of total import volume as well as import value in the past several years. For 2019, the competition will only get more intense as increasing fruit exporters begin to realize China is becoming one of the most important market in the world.
 

Australian Tulare Giant Plums to Arrive Before Chinese New Year

T&G Global, a domestic and international fresh fruit wholesaler of New Zealand, will be exporting quality Tulare Giant Plums of Australia to China under the brand name Orchard RD. They began the harvesting around Christmas and the first shipment is expected to arrive before the Chinese New Year, just in time for the pre-holiday promotion, which will be carried out by their branch office in Shanghai. This is the first time Australian Tulare Giant Plums hit Chinese market, and they can be bought online or in store.

Panamanian Pineapples to Meet Chinese Consumers in As Early As 3 Months

Protocol of phytosanitary requirements for the export of pineapples from Panama to China has been recently signed and Mr. Rosmer Jurado, CEO at s, believed the new protocol would likely double Panama’s pineapple exports. The export date hasn’t been set yet, but Mr. Rosmer Jurado estimated the first batch of pineapples would greet Chinese consumers in as early as 3 months.                 

Spanish Grapes to Enter China This Summer 

Following the approval of market access, Spain is going to begin the exports of a variety of table grapes to China in this July. The president of the Association of Producers-Exporters of Fruits, Table Grapes and Other Agricultural Products (Apoexpa), Mr. Joaquín Gómez said the industry would target a market niche, such as people with high purchasing power and similar tendencies to European consumers.

Thailand to Seize More Share With Better Quality Durian

The Thailand authority has embarked on a Durian quality improvement campaign, hoping that it will expand Thailand Durian’s share in China. The government predicted 843 Durian growers would join the movement, planting 24.2 thousand Durian trees. News has it that the famous transnational enterprise Charoen Pokphand Group will buy Durian from local growers and export them to China.
